🍎 The Classroom I Didn’t Know I Still Had

How I realized that once a teacher, always a teacher — just in new and unexpected ways.

I used to think teaching ended when I left the classroom. Turns out, I never stopped.

This season’s been humbling, a little uncertain, and surprisingly full of lessons.
I guess the classroom just looks different now. 🍎✨

Every season of life has its own kind of classroom — right now, mine looks like a mix of family dinners, storybooks, open houses, and everyday conversations that keep teaching me something new. Sometimes my lessons come over pancakes and messes, sometimes between showings, and sometimes from the smallest voices calling me “Mom.”

I’ve learned the classroom isn’t a place — it’s a way of moving through the world with curiosity, care, and connection.
And if that’s true, then I’ll be a teacher forever.

And the truth is, I’ve had some amazing teachers outside of any classroom walls.

My Fellow Educators

In this new classroom of life, I’ve found the best teachers sitting right beside me — friends, family, and the people who’ve shaped who I am today. These are just a few of the lessons (and the teachers) that have stayed with me along the way.

My mom taught me that doing your best matters more than perfection. She’s my constant — protective, grounding, unafraid to tell me when I’m wrong, and somehow loving me even harder afterward.

My dad taught me manners, confidence, and to always lead with a smile. Time has softened him, but his lessons never changed — be kind, stand tall, and remember that rejection isn’t failure; it’s just redirection.

My sisters — my first and forever friends — remind me that love doesn’t always mean agreement. Our differences teach me patience and the beauty of seeing the world from another view.

My brothers have each shaped me differently — one through childhood adventures, the other through growing friendship in adulthood.

Leigh Ann reminds me to be fearless, to laugh, and to remember that sometimes, “it’s not that deep.”

Kera has always been my opposite — the yin to my yang. I used to focus on our differences, but now I see they’re what keep us balanced — always learning from each other.

CG taught me to see past sarcasm — to recognize the heart of gold behind humor, and that strength and softness can live side by side.

Frankie has taught me timing, patience, and communication — and that sometimes it’s best to keep quiet (especially when the Italian in me wants the last word). Together, we’ve learned to stay true to ourselves and to each other — to protect our peace, keep family first, and not let outside opinions cloud what really matters. His family has shown me how to slow down and savor life — where dinner turns into stories, laughter fills the room, and there’s always time for one more cocktail and one more conversation.

And maybe that’s what I love most — that every season has its teachers.

At work, Jeff and Nicole have taught me that learning doesn’t stop when you leave the classroom. They let me ask every “quick question,” every “this might sound dumb, but…” without judgment. Their patience reminds me that the best leaders teach through kindness, not criticism — and that leading with grace is its own kind of education.

These days, my kids remind me daily that learning never ends. Whether it’s through their curiosity, their honesty, or the way they see the world — they’re constantly teaching me to be better, softer, and braver than I was yesterday.

Maybe that’s why my thoughts always drift back to my Mammaw — my very first teacher.
She taught me to stay curious, ask questions, and make friends wherever I go.
She began as a teacher, became a mom, and later a realtor — a path I never realized I’d follow.
Real estate found me in the same way teaching did — through people, stories, and connection.

The Classroom I Didn’t Know I Still Had

The lessons look different now — not test scores or report cards, but patience, perspective, and grace.
I’m still figuring it all out — motherhood, change, and what comes next.
Maybe that’s what learning is meant to look like.
Maybe the real classroom is just showing up, even when the answers aren’t clear.

And maybe that’s why I’m drawn to what I do now — because every story, every family, every conversation teaches me something new. I’m still learning, still growing, and hoping to help others feel at home along the way. 🍎✨

From one learner to another,

🎃 Spooky Chester County 101

It’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus… or is it? 👀

Well, that depends on what you’ve seen or believed. Chester County has its share of history and mystery, so I’m taking a closer look.

I’ve heard stories from family and friends, and my sister and I have had unexplainable moments. Certain old homes here make your stomach twist before your mind catches up.

If you grew up here, you know everyone has their spooky memory—maybe a family ghost story or a local legend.

Many properties date back to the Revolutionary War, witnessing centuries of life and perhaps some afterlife. The mix of charm, age, and mystery here is intriguing, and I couldn’t resist digging deeper.

So grab your notebooks, sharpen your pencils, and settle in—class is officially in session.

📚 Lesson 1: Cedarcroft — The House That’s Seen It All

We’re starting close to home with a name that might sound familiar to anyone from Kennett Square: the Bayard Taylor Estate, also known as Cedarcroft. While I’ve never heard anyone say it’s haunted, there’s a lot of history there.

Built in 1859 by Kennett Square’s own Bayard Taylor—a poet and traveler—Cedarcroft was more than just a house; it was his dream project. With thick stone walls, a tall tower, and open fields around it, Taylor designed it to last. He filled the home with writing, discussions, and many literary guests, including Ralph Waldo Emerson and James Russell Lowell.

However, like many dreams, things didn’t go perfectly. Financial issues, the Civil War, and changing times eventually led Taylor to leave. Cedarcroft remained—passed down through families, restored, transformed, and finally recognized as a National Historic Landmark.

Back then, my friends and I would drive by just to get a glimpse. Was I the brave one? Not even close. But that house had a way of pulling your attention—it still does. Every now and then, I take the long way home with my kids, just to show them the same eerie beauty that’s been haunting my curiosity for years.

If those walls could talk—and maybe they do in their own quiet way—they’d have a lot to share. It’s not ghosts that linger at Cedarcroft; it’s the stories that continue to echo through it.

✏️ Lesson 1 Takeaway:
Not all ghosts wear sheets—some wear history. 👻

📚 Lesson 2: Cossart Road — Where an Urban Legend Lives On

Every town has that one road everyone claims is haunted—or at least feels eerie. Here, it’s Cossart Road, dubbed Devil’s Road.

If you grew up near Chadds Ford, you’ve heard the tales. The trees lean away from the road. There is a mysterious house in the woods. The whispers grow each year. This legend has been passed down, fueled by curiosity and late-night drives.

Local lore suggests it connects to an old mansion linked to the DuPont family, rumored for secret gatherings. The trees seem to bend, as if recoiling, creating a strange sensation when you drive through.

I first heard about it from my brother and his friends—thanks, Joey and CG. Eventually, my friends and I drove there—windows up, music down, hearts racing. I was in the backseat, eyes closed, questioning my life choices.

Were the stories real? Who knows. But the feeling was real, making Cossart Road unforgettable—not the proof, but the goosebumps.

✏️ Lesson 2 Takeaway:
Some roads don’t need ghosts—just a good story and a car full of people who swear they aren’t scared. 🌙

📚 Lesson 3: The Ticking Tomb — When History Has a Heartbeat

Now this one was new to me, and I had to do my research! Thanks to a fellow dance mom who mentioned it, I couldn’t believe I’d never heard of it before.

There’s a small cemetery near Landenberg that’s home to one of Chester County’s strangest legends: The Ticking Tomb. The story goes that a young man swallowed a pocket watch belonging to Charles Mason. When he passed away, the ticking never stopped. Locals say that if you visit the old London Tract Meeting House cemetery, you should press your ear against his tombstone. You can still faintly hear it ticking today.

The legend has persisted, even inspiring thoughts of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart. I haven’t given it a listen yet, but you can bet it’s on my haunted bucket list!

✏️ Lesson 3 Takeaway:
Some stories fade with time—others keep ticking. ⏱️

Final Bell…

So, what do you think—just stories, or something a little too real?
Chester County never fails to send a chill down my spine… and apparently, I live for it. 😅

Until next time, keep your lights on, your curiosity sharp, and your imagination wide open. 🕯️
Class dismissed… for now. 🎃

🏡 What Kind of Dad Lives Here?

A Father’s Day tribute to the men who fix what’s broken, show up every time, and make a house feel like home.

💛 Dedicated to My Dad

The one who can fix anything—leaky faucets, stressful days, broken confidence. The one who listens when I’m overwhelmed, talks me down when I’m spiraling, and hypes me up when I need it most. You’ve always been calm, consistent, steady, and strong. This post is for you—and for every dad who doesn’t need a lot of words to make a big impact.

The Many Types of Dads (and Their Dream Spaces)

Not every dad is the same—and that’s what makes them unforgettable. Whether he’s got a garage full of tools or a chair in the backyard with his name on it, every dad leaves his mark on the home he lives in.

Here’s a lighthearted (but lovingly accurate) look at some classic dad types—and the home features that match their vibe:

🔥 The Grill Guy

Backyard legend. King of the tongs. Doesn’t need a timer—just instinct (and maybe a little smoke). Some dads swear by low and slow. Others? Well-done, every time—no matter what the crowd says. Either way, when Dad’s at the grill, no one else dares take over.

Dream Features: A solid patio, space for his prized grill setup, and a cooler stocked with the “good stuff.”

Signature Line: “Don’t touch that—it’s almost ready.” (Followed by something definitely not medium-rare.)

🔧 The Fix-It Dad

He’s got a fix for everything—leaky faucets, wobbly chairs, and somehow even your bad mood. He starts projects confidently… usually at the most inconvenient time. Like that time my dad decided to build a tire swing for my kids—just a few hours before my sister’s wedding. (Because when inspiration strikes, it strikes.)

You’ll find him in the garage, surrounded by tools he’s had forever but still swears by, with about five half-finished projects and zero complaints.

Dream Features: A garage or basement workshop that’s all his, great lighting, and more shelving than seems physically possible.

Signature Line: “Let me grab my tools—I’ve got it.” (Also known to say: “How long has this been like this?”)

🎉 The Backyard Vibes Dad

He’s all about the setup—ladder ball ready, drinks on ice, and music playing before anyone even steps outside. He’s the low-key host who makes sure everyone’s taken care of without making it a production. Just don’t be surprised if the night stretches on… especially if he pulls out his guitar and starts strumming a few songs.

Dream Features: A spacious backyard, outdoor speakers, a grill nearby, and plenty of room to play, relax, and just hang out.

Signature Line: “Come on, stay a little longer—there’s plenty of food and cold drinks.”

📱 The Tech Dad

He’s always two steps ahead when it comes to gadgets—voice-controlled lights, smart thermostats, even the coffee pot starts before he’s out of bed. He’s the family IT guy (whether he likes it or not), and he actually reads the manual—then rewrites it better. Just don’t mess with the remotes. Seriously.

Dream Features: Smart home setup, strong Wi-Fi everywhere, a tricked-out home office or movie room, and bonus points if the doorbell talks.

Signature Line: “Hang on—let me show you how this works.”

🌳 The Laid-Back Dad

He’s the calm in the chaos. Happy with a good chair, a little shade, and a moment of peace. He’s not asking for much—just a spot to breathe, a cup of coffee (or something stronger), and maybe a quiet view. He might not say a lot, but when he does, it counts.

Dream Features: A peaceful porch, hammock-ready trees, maybe a cozy sunroom or a tucked-away corner to unwind.

Signature Line: “I’m just gonna sit here for a minute.”

🎶 The Throwback Dad

He’s got a deep love for real music—stuff that came on vinyl, not a playlist. He’s probably got a favorite band (or five), a worn-in concert tee, and strong opinions about modern music. Whether it’s classic rock, Motown, or anything with a little soul, if he controls the speakers—you’re in for a throwback.

Dream Features: A basement hangout or music room, a record player setup, and space to relive the good stuff.

Signature Line: “Now this is music.”

🗨️ The Steady Dad

He’s the rock. The quiet constant. The one who shows up every single time—without needing to be asked. He doesn’t need to be loud to lead, and he doesn’t look for credit—but everything feels a little more grounded when he’s around. Whether it’s fixing what’s broken or reminding you you’ve got this, he’s the calm in the chaos and the voice of reason when it counts.

Dream Features: A comfortable, welcoming home filled with warmth, reliability, and space for the people he loves to come back to—over and over again.

Signature Line: “I’m here if you need me.”

🧹 The Clean-Up Dad

He’s got a running mental inventory of the entire house—and he knows exactly when something’s out of place. Shoes by the door? He knows who left them. Water bottle not where it belongs? Already noted.

I’ve got my very own Danny Tanner at home—always cleaning up quietly, keeping things in order, and yes… putting everything “where it’s easy to find.” The only catch? He’s 6’6”, so his idea of easy-to-find means I usually need a chair and a new vantage point just to reach it.

Dream Features: A streamlined mudroom, hidden storage, smart layouts, and a home where everything has a place (and ideally, a lower shelf or two).

Signature Line: “Who left this here?” (Followed by a quiet fix and a head shake.)

Which One Lives In Your House?

Whether your dad fits one of these perfectly or is a mix of a few (most are), here’s to the men who shape our homes with their presence, humor, habits, and quiet superpowers.

So—which one sounds like your dad? Or your husband? Or you? Drop it in the comments or tag your favorite “dad type.”

And if they’ve been hinting at a dream yard, man cave, or better grill setup—you know who to call. 😉

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there.

Fatherhood takes many forms, and I’m beyond grateful for the incredible men who’ve shaped my world—from my dad to my brother, uncles, friends, and especially my husband—
the kind of father kids dream of having.
Here’s to the love, laughter, and legacy they bring to our lives.

Thank you.

Meet The Williams Group: A Kid-Powered Agency

Where the CEO is 10, snacks are policy

and real estate is a full-on family affair.

Some agents have assistants. I have children.

They’re unlicensed, unfiltered, and completely underqualified—but they’ve got opinions on everything from house paint to open house playlists. Honestly? They might be the most entertaining “team” in real estate.

Welcome to The Williams Group—not a real empire (yet), but a very real mom powered by three tiny consultants with big imaginations, louder voices, and endless snack requests.

Meet the team:

👑 Francesca, Age 10 – CEO (Chief Executive Offspring)

She declared herself the boss, and frankly, no one’s arguing.
Her rules?

“Don’t sell a house without asking me. If you do? I get half the money.”

Francesca dreams in square footage: beach houses, living room cinemas, trampolines in kitchens. She’s strictly against small yards and lower cabinets (“Because they’re annoying. Duh.”).

Showing outfit requirements?
Heels. Long dress. Or cowgirl boots—if the dress is short.

Her preferred closing gift? A trip to Disney or Universal. Obviously.

🎀 Isabelle, Age 7 – Director of Curb Appeal & Creative Magic

Part design diva, part hospitality queen.

She’s here for pink ceilings, cookie trays, and renamed pets.

Her must-haves?

A sweet puppy at every showing. Signs that say “We sold a house!”—preferably glittered and…

“Every room should be pink. Even the bathroom. Even the ceiling.”

Tired mom workaround?
“Just send them a picture. Don’t go.”
Honestly… she’s not wrong.

🦖 Sebastian, Age 3 – VP of Snacks, Silliness & Dinosaur Security

He brings the chaos—and the snacks.

Dream home criteria?
Red.. With cereal dispensers, indoor slides, and “baby dinosaurs who are only nice.”

Marketing plan?
Shout “YAY!” and show off his dinosaur. Boom. Sold.

Open house menu?
Goldfish crackers and cupcakes. Because “that’s what you say when someone buys a house. Let’s have cupcakes!”

So, what is The Williams Group, really?
It’s me—a real estate agent (and snack wrangler) doing my best to juggle showings, shoe-tying, and the occasional glitter explosion.

Our business meetings happen in the car. Our listings sometimes come with cookie crumbs and crayon commentary. And while my kids might not be on the paperwork, they’re in everything I do.

Because “home” isn’t just walls and windows. It’s where your people—and sometimes your dinosaurs—live.

🏡 Thinking about buying or selling?
I bring real advice, real effort, and maybe the occasional pink paint recommendation from my Creative Director.
Let’s find your happy place. Sparkles optional. Love guaranteed.

Finding Your Inspirational Word for the Year

The start of a new year always feels like an invitation—a chance to press reset and reimagine what’s possible. But let’s be honest: New Year’s resolutions often come with a sense of overwhelming expectation. Instead of diving headfirst into unattainable goals, I’ve found something more grounding and inspiring: choosing a word of the year.

This isn’t about picking a word that sounds trendy or Pinterest-perfect; it’s about finding one that feels like a guide for your heart and mind—a word that lifts you when you’re low, refocuses you when you’re lost, and whispers, “You’ve got this” on the tough days. It’s also a word that can help in all areas of your lifework, personal, relationships, and beyond.

My Words of the Year

This year, I chose “Resilient,” “Worthy,” and “Empower.”

Why three words? Because some days, life requires a little extra backup.

  • Resilient reminds me that I’ve made it through every hard moment so far, even when I doubted I could. It’s my reminder to bounce back, no matter how messy the fall.
  • Worthy is the gentle nudge I need when self-doubt creeps in, whispering that my value doesn’t depend on what I accomplish—or don’t.
  • Empower is my call to take control of my life and choices. It says, “Stop handing the steering wheel to anxiety and take charge.”

These words aren’t just inspirational; they’re practical tools I reach for when life feels overwhelming. They remind me to take small steps, celebrate progress, and trust in my ability to grow. And no matter where I apply them—in my career, my personal growth, or my relationships—they bring clarity and strength.

Will it Be Perfect?

Will I always be able to listen to my own advice and remind myself of those words of affirmation? Most definitely not. But it’s a start on a journey of becoming a better version of myself. Life will 100% throw curves in all aspects of life, but how you handle them makes all the difference.

How to Choose Your Word of the Year

If you’re ready to pick a word that feels like a life preserver (or maybe a gentle shove in the right direction), here’s how to get started:

  1. Reflect on Your Year Think about what you struggled with and where you want to grow. Ask yourself:
    • What held me back last year?
    • What do I want more of in my life?
    • How do I want to feel at the end of this year?
  2. Brainstorm Words That Resonate
Write down words that feel meaningful—anything from “calm” to “brave” to “unbothered” (because yes, that’s valid). Don’t overthink it. Just let the words flow and see what speaks to you.
  3. Choose a Word That Feels Right
You’ll know you’ve found your word when it feels like a deep breath, a warm embrace, or a spark of inspiration. It should feel like a true reflection of you.

Using Your Word as a Daily Reminder

Once you’ve chosen your word, find ways to weave it into your life:

  • Write it on a sticky note and put it where you’ll see it every day.
  • Journal about what it means to you.
  • Create a screensaver or background with your word to keep it top of mind.

Your word is there to guide you—not to guilt you into perfection. Think of it as a compass, gently steering you back to yourself when life gets overwhelming.

A Little Encouragement

If you’re feeling discouraged, anxious, or like you’re falling short, know this: You are not alone. You are not a disappointment. You are enough, just as you are. And choosing a word of the year is a way to remind yourself of that truth, one day at a time.

So, go ahead—choose your word. Make it bold, make it soft, make it yours. And as you navigate the ups and downs of this year, let it remind you that you’re capable, worthy, and stronger than you know. I hope it becomes a meaningful guide that helps you prosper in all areas of your life.

Because you? You’ve got this.

What’s your word of the year?

I’d love to hear it—drop it in the comments and let’s inspire each other!

Celebrating New Beginnings: Lessons from 2024

As the year draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the many new beginnings it brought. For me, this year was all about stepping into the unfamiliar, taking chances, and learning to embrace change with an open heart.

If you’d asked me a few years ago what I thought about change, I would’ve said I hated it and avoided it at all costs. And by “avoided,” I mean I would’ve run in the opposite direction while yelling, “Nope!” But life has a funny way of teaching us lessons we didn’t know we needed. This year, I’ve come to see change not as something to fear but as a chance to grow, evolve, and occasionally panic a little before remembering that I’m capable.

Starting a new career in real estate has been both exciting and challenging. Introducing myself to clients, learning the ropes in a competitive industry, and balancing work and family was daunting at first. And by “daunting,” I mean I may have had a few internal meltdowns, complete with dramatic hand-wringing and deep sighs. But I’ve realized that the best things come when we step out of our comfort zones.

At home, we’ve celebrated milestones and faced bittersweet moments. My oldest, Francesca, started 4th grade this year, and her intelligence, sass, and fierce independence inspire me daily. Isabelle, my 7-year-old, approaches each day with wonder and a deep curiosity about the world around her. Sebastian, at 3, is my little helper—always eager to lend a hand, whether it’s “helping” with chores or bringing me his favorite toys to play with.

This year also brought heartache as we said goodbye to our beloved dog, Gunner, who had been with us since 2008. Losing him was so hard, but his memory reminds us of unconditional love and the joy pets bring to our lives.

On the brighter side, I’ve loved becoming a homeroom mom for both Francesca and Isabelle. Navigating the dance world with my daughters has been its own adventure—glitter, costumes, and all! Each moment fills me with pride as I watch them grow in something they love.

Through it all, friendships and family have been my greatest source of strength. True friends lift us up, cheer us on, and remind us that it’s okay to not have it all figured out. Their support—whether through a heartfelt conversation, shared laughter, or commiserating over parenting fails—has made this year’s changes feel less overwhelming and so much more meaningful. My family, especially my husband, has been a rock, inspiring me daily with his hard work and dedication. He’s the guy who keeps the ship afloat, even when the water is a little choppy!

This year has taught me that new beginnings aren’t about being perfect. They’re about showing up, doing your best, and trusting the process (and maybe buying some extra coffee). Growth happens in the messy, unpolished moments, and that’s where life’s beauty truly shines.

As we step into a new year, take a moment to celebrate your own new beginnings—big or small, planned or unexpected. They’re all proof that you’re moving forward and growing.

Here’s to the beauty of what’s ahead—and the courage it takes to get there.

What were your favorite new beginnings this year? I’d love to hear your stories. Let’s inspire each other as we grow!
